The world of tennis is no stranger to talent and has had its fair share of sporting legends throughout the years. However, there is a new generation of talent making its mark, with 2024’s Grand Slam winners consisting of the ages 21-26 years old.
Only halfway through the year, and with all time favourite, Novak Djokovic having suffered a knee injury- ending his tournament at Roland Garros, there is high potential for the younger generation to completely dominate this season. With Carlos Alcaraz joining the newly named world number one, Jannik Sinner, as a Grand Slam winner in 2024, there is no telling what these incredible athletes may accomplish by the end of their careers.
Women’s world number one, Iga Swiatek won her fifth Grand Slam title at Roland Garros this year at just 23 years old and she is joined at the top end of the rankings by 20-year-old Coco Gauff, who won her first Grand Slam title at the 2023 US Open. With all these powerful names rising to success there is so much excitement in what to expect for the future of tennis.
As we enter summer, ahead of the 2024 Olympics, and await the pinnacle of Grand Slams, Wimbledon, players prepare to make their mark on the grass and add that coveted title to their roster.
